Meet Abby Oliver
M.S., CCC-SLP

… your local speech-language pathologist and owner of Spark Speech Therapy LLC

My name is Abby, and I am passionate about helping children develop and refine the communication and academic skills they need to thrive. With 6+ years of experience in pediatric speech-language pathology, I have collaborated with countless children and their families towards creating successful and meaningful progress.

I have a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Purdue University and a background in pediatric outpatient rehabilitation. I chose to pursue private practice with an emphasis on in-home treatment to bring more personalized, meaningful treatment to your front door.

My approach is centered on sparking curiosity and connection from the very start, helping your child feel safe, confident, and excited to grow into new skills and milestones. I believe that progress thrives in a child-led, parent-empowering environment where we work together to understand the why, the how come, and the what can we do next when faced with stubborn diagnoses or challenges.

Through play-based and individualized treatment, I focus on making every goal purposeful and motivating so that therapy feels natural, engaging, and aligned with both your child’s best interests and your family’s biggest priorities.

Specialized Trainings & Treatment Approaches

While we try to root all treatment in evidence-based practice, Spark offers areas of specialized training that may match your child’s needs.

  • A structured, multi-sensory approach to teaching reading, writing, and spelling that is particularly effective for children who have been diagnosed with dyslexia or who have been struggling with language-based learning.

Often seen as a full curriculum in schools, we can offer individualized treatment exactly where your child’s learning breakdown may be to help them stay on track in and outside of academics.

  • An evidence-based treatment approach specifically designed for children with childhood apraxia of speech, though it can be useful for severe cases of phonological disorders.

It focuses on increasing specific motor planning for speech and expanding successful movement patterns.

  • A comprehensive and systematic program designed to assess and treat children with sensory and/or motor-based feeding difficulties. It uses play-based and child-paced methods to increase your child’s confidence in exploring new or difficult food items.
